More About Moore

into pieces. They constructively and compassionately challenged my perspectives, beliefs, and in turn enhanced my critical thinking. Most importantly, though, I had a front row seat to seeing how these individuals acted on their own beliefs, principles, and values through action. In my final year at Wartburg, I was feeling pretty burnt out. While I was so incredibly excited and determined in my studies, I desired to gain greater experience, world outlook, and attempt to put my money where my mouth was by applying my skills and knowledge through service. In turn, I decided to skip the graduate school application season and apply to global service programs.

I received an incredible opportunity to serve as a Young Adult in Global Mission through the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. From 2023-2024, I was placed in rural Hungary where I had an amazing opportunity to teach English to grades 2-8, as well as current affairs and American and European history to grades 8-12. However, the most impactful aspect of this experience was being able to create relationships with and learn from those with different cultures and world outlooks! You can find my newsletters from my time in Hungary under the Resources tab.

These days, I am attending the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver for a master’s in International Security and a graduate certificate in Homeland Security. Some of my interests include: American foreign policy, diplomacy, great power transitions, US-Chinese relations, and the Russo-Ukrainian War. However, my passion expands beyond these into a plethora of fields and topics. As of right now, I hope to continue on in education to either attain a PhD or JD. Furthermore, I am currently looking for internship opportunities related to security. Some of the areas I have been looking into are U.S. government and international institutions, NGO’s, think tanks, and many more. If you or someone you know might have insight or connections for me, I would be very grateful if you reached out!

Finally, I would like to acknowledge that I have been incredibly privileged to have received substantial scholarships to both undergraduate and graduate school, as well as maintain a job to support myself through these endeavors. These made higher education a possibility for me, given my low socio-economic background. While I have also been lucky enough to create critical connections and have others mentor me, I constantly come back to the realization that a vast majority of people never have these breaks in life or even access and circumstances to embark on these opportunities. With that, I truly believe education should be an absolute right to every single child in the world and everyone should have the opportunity to attempt higher education. This is the foundation of the site and the underpinning goal of my efforts. Above all else, even with my current capabilities, I desire to be a resource for others, and my academic efforts are always aimed at serving others.

Higher education is not only a means of achieving a better life for oneself and one's family, but it is a means that provides the utmost critical opportunity for an individual to become a critical thinker in a world that desperately needs more of them. - Connor JL Moore

WELCOME, I am glad you are here! A bit about me—I was born and raised, along with three older siblings, in Colorado by a single mother and grandmother. Throughout my primary education, I struggled immensely. Being put into specialized classes and having negative experiences in the classroom, younger me held a deep resentment and anger towards school.

Upon entering high school, however, I became motivated to succeed in school. Yet, this motivation was founded in a negative mindset. School was to be systematically conquered, people were to be proved wrong, and accolades were to be made to progress. It wasn’t until my second and third year in undergraduate where this mentality shifted.

Having significant access to specific professors and mentors, these role models shattered this negative and rigid thinking

Mission & Values

Through all of my experiences and witnessing my role models’ service, I have set a foundation of my core values, principles, and beliefs. These are at the heart of everything I attempt to do and they guide the site's overarching goals and mission.

Most importantly, the site aims to provide a venue where its featured works might elicit readers to consider donating to or supporting a nonprofit and/or contributing to the site's growth through contributions or sharing the content, therefore translating passion and effort into tangible impact.

The Content & Its Credibility

First and foremost, the site is a working project. We would greatly appreciate any feedback, insight, or recommendations to further improve the site's functionality, content, and any other aspect of the site. Mooreposts is incredibly grateful to its design contributors. These creatives are young professionals across the United States who are giving their valuable time, free of charge, to creating content out of passion for and belief in the site’s mission. While the site cannot compensate contributors at this time, we hope that readers will navigate to the Contributors tab to learn about these inspiring people and find ways to support them! Moreover, the site is constantly looking for those who share the same values and mission and want to contribute to the site in their respective areas/passions, under the same tab, you can find out how to become a contributor.

Regarding the site’s content credibility, Mooreposts is determined to uphold academic and public integrity and trust by providing academic works that are credible through peer-review and an extensive peer-editing process. Any academic article, blog, or op-ed that is submitted to Mooreposts is required to be backed up by and adhere to the following criteria and processes.

1) Any current undergraduate or graduate student’s work requires that it be previously graded, peer-reviewed, or approved by a professor or expert in the given field who is affiliated with an accredited institution and/or has apparent credible credentials in the given field.

2) For any expert or established academic with a PhD who is providing work, they must provide confirmation of legitimacy, accuracy, and/or peer-review.

3) All contributors of academic pieces are required to provide works cited/references/bibliography, along with their footnotes or notes, if applicable. For works including quantitative or mixed methods analysis, the work’s methodology and documentation of utilized data are required.

4) Every contributor providing work must sign a document affirming and taking responsibility for the work's accuracy, data, and evidence.

Specifically, for op-ed pieces, Mooreposts will not accept any pieces that promote misinformation, bias, or inflammatory rhetoric. Moreover, please note that the views expressed in op-eds are those of the individual authors and do not necessarily reflect the opinions or positions of Mooreposts. We aim to provide a platform for diverse perspectives to push forward our mission.

If any comment, question, review, or concern is submitted to the site over a publication, it will also be directed to the author for review and/or response. Moreover, in the event any contributor's work is submitted to or becomes approved for publication in another site or academic journal, Mooreposts will assist the contributor by removing the work from the site if needed.
